Dr. Mark Melson
Mark Melson is a Board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in the diagnosis and management of eyelid, tear duct, and orbital diseases. His goal is to provide quality, compassionate, and comprehensive medical care, as well as to offer safe and effective surgical treatment, including cosmetic eyelid surgery. Dr. Melson attended the University of Virginia where he received a bachelor’s degree in Commerce with a concentration in Accounting. Following college, he completed the Post-Baccalaureate Pre-Medical Program at Georgetown University. He then graduated from the University of Virginia School of Medicine followed by ophthalmology residency at Harvard Medical School. After general ophthalmology training, Dr. Melson completed subspecialty fellowship training in oculoplastic, orbital, and cosmetic surgery at Emory University in Atlanta. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and lectured locally, nationally, and internationally. Dr. Melson and his wife, Martha, live in Nashville with their two children.
